Changsha Social Work College in Hunan Province, Mainland China is announcing 2 English Teaching positions available from September 2006. This beautiful school is located in the provincial capital city Changsha and has an enrollment of 8,000 students. Usually there are around 4 foreign English teachers teaching at the college each year. Requirements: NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKER holding a passport of the USA, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, or Irish (for the purpose of applying a work visa from the government), BA/BS or teacher's certificate. Teaching load: around 16 classes per week (45 minutes each). Pay and benefits: up to 4,000 Chinese yuan per month (8.00 yuan = 1USD) based on qualification and experience, extra pay for extra teaching, summer and winter vacations with pay, 2,200 yuan travelling subsidy within China per year, round-trip international airline ticket for return after one-year of teaching, excellent accommodation with all living facilities for free, medical care provided. The contract is 1 year and renewable. [Although the pay is not much in Western standard, it is decent and more than that a Chinese professor earns. The food is good and also cheap (almost free if you go to the cafe of the school) in China. It is a good opportunity to tour China and to explore more about the Chinese culture for those whose specialty is related to China.
