Lead Artist/Art Director - NHL 2K

Kush Games is responsible for the development of the recent best-selling, top-rated NHL 2K6 and ESPN MLB 2K5. Kush has also developed such highly-praised hits as ESPN NHL 2K5 and ESPN College Hoops 2K4. We are seeking an intelligent, dedicated, and passionate professional to play a key role as Lead Artist/Art Director. This is an exciting and unique opportunity to join a stable organization and grow and lead a team while applying cutting-edge technology. You will guide others and impact our games in creation of great simulation experiences on next generation consoles including Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Kush Games believes everyone plays a significant role in the development process, meaning all team members contribute their ideas and are important to the success of the game.
Required background and skills:
Four year degree or equivalent experience
- Three or more years experience working as 3D artist on shipped console titles
- One or more years experience as Lead Artist or Art Director on a published title
- Experience with next-gen consoles - preferred
- Demonstrated ability in the development pipelines for delivering art assets
- Proven problem solving capabilities
- The ability to gain respect and inspire others through excellent interpersonal skills
- Experience mentoring and junior artists
- Thorough knowledge of Photoshop, Maya and other 2D/3D applications
- Self motivation with the ability to achieve milestones and deliverables
Duties:
- Grow, lead and inspire the art team
- Define art pipelines and find solutions for meeting game requirements
- Troubleshoot problems and assist artists with delivery of assets
- Share and facilitate knowledge and understanding of cutting edge techniques and tools
- Critique constructively the work of others, as well as your own, while raising the overall quality of our assets and our games
